The Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) recently hosted it’s ever popular CTS23 – Motorsport Engineering & Technology Show, a two-day event at Silverstone on 11^th and 12^th October 2023.

Xtrac Ltd was extremely excited to be exhibiting at the show, alongside the new for 2023 Hertz Team Jota Porsche 963 LMDh car using our P1359 transverse transmission with integrated hybrid system. Competing in the World Endurance Championship, it is currently leading the FIA World Cup for hypercar teams.

James Setter presented “Designing for the latest manufacturing techniques” at the very busy “Speakers Corner”. The presentation focused on our successful partnership with Czinger for 3D printing and machining the P1385 maincase and associated components for the transmission integrated in the class leading 21C hypercar.

James Setter – commercial director, and David Smith – head of motorsport manned the Xtrac Ltd stand displaying our hybrid and EV transmissions including the P1320, P1385 machined printed maincase and our very latest range of High Performance Mechatronics products.

There were around 300 attendees throughout the two-day event including leading global decision makers, and potential new recruits for the business. Key topics of discussion with the Xtrac employees including Xtrac’s award-winning apprentice scheme and in-house academy, and the work that Xtrac is doing with local schools to promote STEM subjects, building the next generation of engineers.

The MIA’s annual Business Excellence Awards Dinner also took place at the Silverstone Wing on Wednesday 11th October 2023. The Awards closed the first day of the show with over 400 guests celebrating winners in seven categories.

Xtrac Ltd was proud to sponsor and present the Business of the Year Award (with annual sales over £5 million) which was presented by our Commercial Manager, James Setter. The award was won by Delta Cosworth, another company pushing the boundaries of hybrid and EV technology.
