Our vision is to remain world leader in Motorsport and High Performance Automotive transmissions solutions, and to offer opportunities through our apprentice / graduate training programmes to young people who want to understand and explore the world of high performance world class engineering, at the same time as developing their career. We seek to address a skills gap, ageing workforce, to keep up with technologies and to bring young people into the business. In addition to maintaining the highest quality of innovation, design and manufacturing we continually invest in the latest, computer-aided engineering and machine tools and the very best employees. These combine to deliver exceptional new products which in turn enables us to continue to invest in R&D, new machines and the very best people via our award winning apprenticeship, graduate and employee training schemes. A simple formula, but one that has won many awards from institutions such as TMMX/IMechE, Made in the South East and Engineering Employers Federation for skills development and Apprenticeships.
FOCUSED ON LONGTERM RELATIONSHIPS
The impact on the business of Xtrac’s Apprenticeship and Under Graduate Programmes is a steady flow of skilled young people who support succession planning for manufacturing, engineering and more recently team leaders and Production Engineers.
Our apprenticeship programme is reviewed constantly via many routes. Firstly the Apprentice through feedback from their self-assessment, Department Managers who train the apprentices, Assessors and Verifiers through Standardisation Meetings, and benchmarking against other businesses through our work with City and Guilds.
Retention of employees who have achieved completion of our apprentice scheme is 85% after 10 years.
