Graduate R&D Engineer

About The Job

We are currently recruiting for a 9 month contract  R&D Graduate Engineer to undertake material testing using Xtrac’s 4-Square gear test rig in our R&D test facility. This is a great opportunity for an engineer keen to join the Xtrac team with potential future roles within Engineering.

The role will require collating and analysing test data in real time (using Excel or alternative analysis software) and presenting the findings in the form of reports and graphs to the Metallurgy team. The successful candidate will maintain the R&D working environment, including rig servicing, document updates and calibration support.

About You

In this role you will need to be able to work independently and with members of the R&D test team who are on hand to assist with the test activities.  You will need good communication skills, attention to detail and be methodical in your approach. Ideally you will have a degree in a material science, mechanical, automotive, aeronautical or similar discipline with a desire to further your career with Xtrac. Experience with material testing, data logging systems including HBM will be an advantage but full training will be given to the successful candidate.

Due to the volume in workload, you will need to have a flexible approach to working hours with a willingness to work some overtime.
