About The Role
We’re currently recruiting a new role as a Team Leader within our End of Line (EoL) Testing department, which is an integral role to ensuring every Gearbox designed, manufactured and built is tested thoroughly before dispatch to our customers. We pride ourselves on quality and reliability here at Xtrac and this role will help ensure we’re always able to deliver both aspects with our products.
You’ll provide leadership to your team, undertaking, delegating and managing end of line testing workload in order to achieve the required levels of quality and output. This includes management, performance monitoring of the team, team development, organising servicing and maintaining of equipment, prioritising work, organising occasional out of hours cover, building strong cross-functional relationships with other departments and deputising in the absence of the department Manager.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring health and safety is complied with by you, your team and your visitors and all activities carries out are in accordance with policies and regulations
- Participating in the quality process ensuring investigations are carried out where required and any quality issues are reported and document in the correct way
- Ensuring routine preventative maintenance activities and software updates on our rigs are undertaken when required
- Control/replenish test rigs and consumable stock
- Working with the R&D management to provide and request additional staff support in times of high demand
- Liaising closely with R&D Engineers to upgrade test rigs and modify tooling, including supporting the creation of technical specifications and additional R&D tests that may need EoL equipment to complete
- Responsible for managing local improvement opportunities to ensure continuous employment
About You
To be successful, we’re looking for the following skills and experience:
- Educated to a minimum level 3 in an Engineering or Motorsport based discipline
- Good understanding of mechanical and electrical principles, ideally within an Automotive or Motorsport industry
- Sound understanding of test working practices
- Have knowledge of PUWER and the Machinery Directive
- Experience of managing, leading or coaching a small team of individuals with the ability to develop highly technical teams
- Experience working within an engineering environment
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience working with an ERP system
- Ability to manage pressurised situations including people, whilst promoting a positive and productive team environment
