Commercial Engineer

About The Job

As a result of continued success and business growth we are expanding our North Carolina facility to support with some high profile and exciting upcoming projects. We’re looking for a Commercial Engineer to provide forecast, sales and technical support to our US customer base in order to achieve sales and enforce Xtrac’s position as a world leader in Motorsport Transmissions.

 

This is a vast role where you’ll be involved in a range of activities as part of a growing team; to name a few you’ll be responsible for:

  • Processing and managing internal forecast, customer quotations and ordering including leading on customer communications
  • Managing customer projects throughout the business including processing documentation, coordinating engineering and manufacturing resource, project timings and specifications, and continued reporting on progress
  • Providing quotations and proposals
  • Providing input into the costing process and supporting commercial decisions
  • Proactively pursue generation of leads and subsequent quotations
  • Continuous improvement of Xtrac products including updating assembly drawings, producing CAD images for customer documentation and the design of any facility and customer tooling where required
  • Building and maintaining relationships with both customers, new and existing, and internal departments

About You

We’re looking for the following skills to really help excel our business and commercial function, and we’d love to hear from you if this sounds like you:

 

  • Educated to degree level in Automotive, Mechanical Engineering or a related subject
  • Experience preparing proposals and quote and as a result have fantastic oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Due to the fast paced environment we work in, you’ll need to be able to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Awareness of project management with the ability to motivate others
  • Ability to build strong working relationships, externally and internally

 

It would be great if you also had the following, but these aren’t essential:

  • Experience within Motorsport, Automotive or Mechanical Engineering sectors
  • Knowledge and experience of ERP/MRP systems
  • Knowledge of MS Project

 

You will also need to be flexible to travel as required, within the USA and Europe to support events and track days.
