About the Position:
Xtrac Inc. are seeking a Gearbox Technician to support the rapid growth of our business and strengthen our busy build shop department.
Reporting to the build shop manager, you will be responsible for building a wide variety of new and used gearboxes, tear downs, wash & crack check, component preparation, repairing, and servicing other transmission-related products.
Our innovative transmissions are being used within the motorsport industry such as IndyCar, NASCAR, IMSA. And in the next generation of ultra-high-performance hybrid and EV hyper cars and Daily machine and equipment maintenance are also duties the candidate will undertake. Computer literacy required, Outlook, Excel, File Management, ability to read CAD drawings. Monday-Friday 40-hour work week, with occasional overtime. Minimal track support required, approximately 15 days of travel.

About You:
We are looking for an individual who has a mechanical assembly or motorsport background, ideally having undertaken an apprenticeship or basic engineering training. You are self-motivated, willing to learn new skills, have a problem-solving mentality, and work great in a small team environment. Having knowledge of machinery including lathes, mill, drill press, grinding, etc. will be advantageous; however, it is not a must. Magnaflux certification a plus.
Candidates will have hands-on mechanical experience and a high level of attention to detail. You will supply your own hand tools; specialty tools are company-supplied.
