2022 Mark O’Brien Award

On Wednesday 18th January, we were very fortunate to be joined by the family of Mark O’Brien to present this year’s Mark O’Brien award. Mark is a former Xtrac employee who, despite fighting valiantly against cancer, lost his battle in October 2014.

The Mark O’Brien Award is open to employees supported by the company for a bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent qualification. Consideration is given to academic progress, contribution to the business and the wider community, their personal development over the past 12 months, and their positive attitude in offering and implementing improvement ideas.

Congratulations to Louis Wilson, this year’s runner up, for the second year in a row. Louis has really embraced his learning journey as well as becoming an integral part and well-respected member of Xtrac’s Quality Team.

And congratulations to Ollie Vobe, this year’s winner of the Mark O’Brien award. Ollie joined Xtrac as a placement student while studying for a bachelor’s degree in Motorsport Technology from Oxford Brookes University. Ollie spent his time primarily in the “Motorsports” Group within the Design Office working as a Trainee Design Engineer and his whole attitude and approach to his work totally embodies the spirit of this award.
