Xtrac welcomes new apprentice cohort and expands academy

Xtrac has welcomed its latest apprentice cohort into the company’s Apprentice Academy, marking another milestone in its investment in future talent. The nine new apprentices officially joined on 3rd September, expanding the Academy to 45 apprentices across all year groups.

This year’s intake is particularly notable for the addition of Xtrac’s first maintenance apprentice and first marketing apprentice, who will undertake a Level 4 Marketing Executive apprenticeship. The expansion of the Academy into non-technical disciplines reflects Xtrac’s commitment to developing skills not only in engineering but also in supporting functions that play a vital role in the company’s global success.

Xtrac apprentices contribute directly to live projects, provide valuable support across departments, and bring fresh energy and perspectives into the business. By nurturing the next generation of skilled professionals, Xtrac ensures it remains at the forefront of innovation and continues to meet the evolving needs of its international customer base.

Before beginning their technical training, the new cohort spent their second day volunteering at Good Hope Farm, a Community Interest Company supporting adults with learning disabilities. Activities included painting, building ramps, preparing garden areas, and learning about natural remedies. The experience reflected Xtrac’s focus on teamwork, collaboration, and giving back to the community.

From 15th September, the apprentices began factory tours and their first departmental rotations, gaining first-hand exposure to the company’s world-class facilities and advanced manufacturing processes. Over the course of their 18-month programme, they will rotate through multiple areas of the business, building skills and understanding how their roles contribute to Xtrac’s continued success.
