So about the job….

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager and working in a small cohesive team you will be responsible for providing an effective and cost efficient purchasing service to the company, by management and development of the supplier base, whilst maintaining the essential balance of quality, price and availability.

This will involve establishing, maintaining and managing strong relationships with new and existing suppliers, sourcing supplies of transmission consumables, placing and progressing purchase orders and purchasing raw materials. 

Developing strategies and processes to improve the operating efficiency of the company’s procurement activities.

What we need from you….

An experienced buyer with a proven track record, you will have knowledge of business operating systems, for example MRP or ERP. 

The ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively and forge good working relationships is essential as you will interact with all areas of the business including manufacturing, commercial, engineering and finance. 

Excellent communication and organisational skills are a must, as is the ability to work calmly and constructively under pressure and to work to tight deadlines. 

Qualified in an Engineering or Business related discipline, you will have experience of the purchasing of proprietary supplies and sub-contract services in Automotive, Aerospace or Motorsport Engineering and/or Manufacturing. Part or fully qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply would be advantageous.
