About The Job

We are offering a number of 1 week work experience placements throughout the 2019/2020 academic year for students from year 9 and upwards. During the week you will get to spend a day in 5 different departments getting to understand how our innovative transmission systems are made, the departments are as follows:

Design Office
Heat Treatment
Build shop
Research and Development

Our transmission systems are used by the World’s top racing teams including Formula 1, IndyCar, Sportscar and Rally. At the end of the week each student will be able to take home their own clock which they will have made during their week at Xtrac. This is a great chance for aspiring engineers to see what it would be like to work in an Engineering company.

About You

We are seeking enthusiastic students who have a passion for motorsport, engineering or manufacturing. This is a great experience to help you fully understand how Xtrac works, it will also help the successful individuals gain a greater insight into the future career paths they could follow alongside helping students decide on their next steps, in both their academic and professional journey’s. Ideally you will have studied Engineering or something similar at GCSE or above. However, if you have not done this but have a passion for engineering please do not let this put you off applying.

The successful candidate must be able to provide transport to Xtrac and must be able to work 8:30am-5pm for the week.
