Senior Design Engineer

Location: Xtrac IndianapolisClosing Date: 29 February 2024

About the Position:

We have an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, dynamic, and motivated business where you will be making a difference to the future of transmission systems!

We are currently looking for forward-thinking and creative senior design engineers to join our passionate and expanding team.

Working as part of a small team of design engineers, you’ll be managing key projects, including cost, specification, and time management.

Working on key projects will include the design and detail of gearbox components and complete transmission systems, using the NX 3D CAD system, which you will see move from design to the race track!

You will be assisting in the resource planning of engineering projects and ensuring that everyone’s time is being utilized efficiently.

You will play a key part in your team’s development and growth, be supportive and on hand when they need guidance, and also be managing engineers, new starters and students.

About You:

You will be qualified to a minimum of BEng or BSc degree level, or equivalent, in Mechanical, Automotive, Motorsports or Aerospace Engineering. You should be a competent CAD user, preferably Siemens NX & TeamCenter 10 PLM, though in-house training is provided.

Experience in a design engineering environment in a similar role – previous Motorsport or Automotive experience is preferable, as is experience of designing rotating metal components.
Leadership/management experience is vital with the ability to take responsibility for decisions taken.

Excellent organizational and IT skills (MS Office) are a pre-requisite, and your experience to date will have equipped you with knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, controls and quality standards, together with ERP systems.

Just like the teams we design for, Xtrac employees work hard and fast so you will need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a pressurized, and ever-changing environment with the ability to manage and prioritize your own workload.

We require initiative, flexibility, and enthusiasm to achieve the challenging targets of our projects.
