Ratio Cell Operator – Day Shift

Location: Xtrac UKClosing Date: 31 May 2021

About The Role

Our Cell Operator position is a great opportunity for someone with general machining skills to come in to a fast pace environment and gain experience running many different machines in a cellular environment, including Turning, Hobbing, Milling & Laser Etching machines amongst any other relevant machines to produce transmission parts to Xtrac’s quality standards.

Your responsibilities will be varied, including, but not limited to:

  • Understand and interpret engineering drawings
  • Inspect visually and dimensionally using a variety of handheld tools
  • Completing all necessary process documentation, packing in appropriate packaging and relocating to the next operation
  • Record setting and production times using our inhouse system

You’ll always need to have an awareness of health and safety and follow all health and safety measures put in place, whilst also following our quality procedures to ensure we are producing the best parts for our customers.

About You

You’ll have ideally completed a Level 2 apprenticeship in a related engineering subject but you must have had experience working in a Mechanical/Engineering environment with working knowledge of manufacturing processes. You’ll have general machinist skills ideally in CNC but this isn’t essential, we’re happy to train and develop your current general machining skills to meet the requirements of the role and we’d be looking for individuals who have the aptitude to do so.

Working at Xtrac is fast paced and at times, high pressured, so you’ll need to have the right attitude and be able to work under pressure whilst remaining calm and having a keen eye for detail. Coupled with a lot of varying deadlines, you’ll be able to prioritise and manage your workload to meet tight timescales.
