Quality Engineer

About The Job

We are currently recruiting an Automotive Quality Engineer to join our quality team. Reporting to the quality manager you will be responsible for supporting new Product Introduction using Advanced Product Quality Planning – compilation of Failure Mode Effects Analysis and Production Part Approval Part submissions.

You will also manage customers quality related issues so good communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure is important.

You will need good relationship building skills in order to work closely with our Customers and Xtrac’s Engineers, Foremen and Machinists, implementing robust solutions and changes to manufacturing processes to improve quality and reduce waste.

It is a requirement for you to maintain the documented Quality Management System and undertake projects, as determined by the Quality Manager, to include process enhancement, new processes and Manufacturing improvements that improve quality & efficiency. As well as supporting assessments of the quality management system when undertaken by customers and external certification bodies such as BSI Management systems.

We would expect you to provide technical support and process assistance to engineers and customers as required as well as attending formal design reviews as appropriate to provide guidance related to a particular project. You’d also need to carry out quality and process Investigations as determined by the Quality Manager.

About You

The successful candidate should have In depth knowledge of PPAP and APQP and knowledge of problem solving and root cause analysis tools. Knowledge and Experience of ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and TS16949 is also desirable. A curious mind with a desire to investigate and find the root cause of manufacturing problems is a must for this role.
