Operations Industrial Placement 2021 – 2022

About The Job

Xtrac are pleased to introduce a 1-year placement opportunity for 2021 to 2022 as part of our award winning industrial placement scheme. The student will work within the operational side of the business in the Supply (Manufacturing) Planning team.  The role is as a Trainee Supply Planning Specialist and will start in early August 2021.

The level of responsibility and type of project he/she would work on depends on the ability of the individual to rise to the challenges set, but the expectation is that the individual will become an integrated, contributing member of the Supply Planning team. Xtrac placement students only work on “real” projects which ultimately end up on race cars and specialist vehicles!

Successful candidates will undergo induction including training on the company ERP system, and a thorough introduction to the company’s manufacturing processes. You will be assigned a mentor who is there to ensure that the transition from student to Trainee Supply Planning Specialist is as seamless as possible.

The Trainee Supply Planning Specialist is a position of fully paid employment, and the successful applicant will become a full time member of staff for the duration of the placement year.

During the placement year  your performance is assessed and the very best students are offered sponsorship by Xtrac to complete their studies. This sponsorship includes an annual bursary, and support by Xtrac if the sponsored student undertakes a final year project for Xtrac.

About You

The candidate should be a student of Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Studies Management or similar Bachelors or Master’s degree in their second (of three) or third (of four) year of study. Good academic results are a pre-requisite, as is an interest in engineering and manufacturing. The candidate must be able to work unsupervised, be self-motivated and demonstrate commitment to getting the job done.
