About The Job
Xtrac are pleased to introduce a 1 year placement opportunity for 2020 to 2021 as part of our industrial placement scheme. The successful students will have two 6 month rotations working in both our planning and procurement departments and will start in early August 2020.
The level of responsibility and type of project he/she would work on, depends on the ability of the individual to rise to the challenges set, but the expectation is that the individual will become an integrated, contributing member of the operations team. Xtrac placement students only work on “real” projects adding real value and so you would be expected through your placement to develop good working relationship with internal customers and external suppliers.
Successful candidates will undergo induction including training on the company ERP system, and a thorough introduction to the company’s manufacturing processes. Each student will be assigned a mentor who is there to ensure that the transition from student to Trainee Manufacturing Project Manager is as seamless as possible.
The Operations Placement is a position of fully paid employment, and the successful applicant will become a full time member of staff for the duration of the placement year.
Following the placement year to student’s performance is assessed and the very best are offered sponsorship by Xtrac to complete their studies. This sponsorship includes a bursary, and support by Xtrac if the sponsored student undertakes a final year project for Xtrac.
The candidate should be a student of Business Studies Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement or similar Bachelors or Master’s degree in their second (of three) or third (of four) year of study. Good academic results are a pre-requisite, as is an interest in engineering. The candidate must be able to work unsupervised, be self-motivated and willing to work additional hours where necessary.
