About The Job
Reporting to the Turning and Milling Manager, you will be working in our main Milling department where you will be responsible for setting, operating and running Milling centres to produce transmission components to the company quality standards. You will be carrying out programming and editing functions to produce high quality components to drawing specifications.
You will consult with engineers / machinists to manufacture work-holding fixtures and devices, undertake day to day maintenance of machines and your working area alongside consulting with production control for work requirements. You will be required to complete Quality Control Plans and other documentation. You must be willing to operate additional machines when required.
You will have an engineering background and ideally have undertaken an apprenticeship.
Ideally you will have working knowledge of Edgecam, Unigraphics, Fanuc and Yasnac controls. You will ideally have knowledge of the following machines:
- Matsuura RA2 twin pallet 3 axis
- Matsuura MC-660 4 axis
- Matsuura MC- 550 4 axis
- Matsuura MC- 450 4 axis
- Mori Seiki MV45B 4 axis
- Matsuura MAM72S2 and MAM72-25V
- Hitachi Seiki HS630, HG400,
- Matsuura ES-450H
Proven experience in programing CNC milling machine is essential along with tool making experience. Having experience of a Motosport/Automotive/Aerospace industry where the work has been unsupervised and high octane is vital for the success of a candidate.
You must be able to understand comprehensive engineering drawings and instructions, be able to visualise finished products and have a good understanding of the properties of the materials we work with.
Good PC skills are essential. This role really is a key role in our Milling Department and the successful candidate will need to have enough relevant prior experience and knowledge to start the job with minimal training.
