Motorsport Technical School

James and McKendrick will impart their extensive Motorsport race event and testing support knowledge garnered in Formula One, LMP Sportscars, World Rally and Touring Cars. Subjects covered in their presentation will include the essential features of Motorsport gearboxes and differentials, failure prevention & analysis, and data acquisition, and analysis for performance enhancement. Students will be given real world examples, including working through a case study together to gear a car for an optimum lap of Monza.

Xtrac continue to help develop not only our own staff progression through apprenticeship and under-graduate schemes but with a long term and sustained involvement with external organisations such as MTS, The Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) for whom we recently presented at their Race Mechanic and Race Engineering classes and various colleges and Universities including, Newbury College, Oxford Brookes University and Cranfield University.

MTS is a technical school for advanced motorsport vocational training based in Italy. The school’s on-the-job training aims to provide the skills excellence that is required by the motorsport industry in Europe. The MTS is aimed at individuals who wish to further their career in race engineering and for teams to further the skills of their own personnel. Lessons focus on the technical aspects and working procedures of a racing mechanic and track engineer. The students examine the mechanical components of racing cars and motorbikes and study how to improve their performance, including set-up and electronic control.
