Le Mans Success

The 89th running of the Le Mans 24 Hours marked a historic moment for Xtrac, supplying not only the top 21 finishing positions but also the first ever team to win in the new for 2021 Hypercar Class, with a dominant 1-2 finish. In fact, Xtrac supplied all of the Hypercar class entrants, with all of the new class entries completing the entire 24 hours.

Of the 61 starters in 2021 an impressive 48 cars were using Xtrac transmissions and notably included all 5 class winners, who collectively secured 12 of the 13 available podium positions. This year saw the addition of an ‘Innovation’ class (and the 13th podium position) with an Oreca LMP2 car of quadruple amputee and successful Le Mans race finisher in 2016 Frederic Sausset’s SRT41 team of three drivers, Nigel Bailly and Takuma Aoki whom are paralysed from the waist down, and Francois Heriau.
