Xtrac offers its customers test and event support, providing a comprehensive technical support service. Throughout the life cycle of an Xtrac product, our expertise and advice is only a telephone call away.
Whilst Design Engineers are assigned to each project to provide technical support, a Business Manager, working closely with the Production Department, provides a continuous point of contact for commercial issues from initial enquiry, through to delivery and ongoing project support. Clear communication is vital and Xtrac provides its customers with key data including; progress reports, parts lists, service manuals and technical bulletins.
Xtrac is renowned for its service and high level of support around the world and we offer a full overhaul facility (in the UK and USA) supporting our belief that the quality of after sales service should reflect the standard of our components.
Assembly of gearboxes is carried out by our skilled technicians, under carefully controlled conditions to ensure the quality of gearbox builds. Key parameters are recorded to support gearbox logbook information, including specification, tightening torques, gearchange barrel settings, differential assembly details, and component serial numbers.
Each new gearbox or differential then undergoes an End of Line function test prior to despatch; the same applies for overhauled and rebuilt assemblies to ensure that any problems are found at source and not on the track or at an event.
Our experienced R&D engineers can also be embedded into a customer organisation during the validation phase to ensure continuous support for the calibration, integration and development of new transmission and driveline products.
This enables our customers to achieve a peerless level of development support with Xtrac engineers fully dedicated to racing teams to ensure optimum transmission performance and a live link to design engineers back at their global headquarters. Our automotive OEM customers enjoy a similarly fully integrated service from our development team who can assist with the creation of new standards of testing, gear shift calibration, sound engineering and NVH refinement, as well as other correlation activities throughout the project.
Customers can be trained at their own base or at either of Xtrac’s UK or Indianapolis facilities. Assembly drawings, maintenance manuals and assembly tooling can all be made available as required to ensure customers are capable of servicing their own products.
For major series such as IndyCar, the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, Xtrac attend races with support vehicles and technician who are on hand for all customers to consult or purchase spares from. This regular track and test attendance by our engineers and business managers ensures that all aspects of a project or product can be looked after on a regular basis with direct and instant feedback.
