With the experience of our high performance motorsport engineering, accumulated since we started the company, we have for many years supported major motor manufacturers with short run development or limited edition production programmes. This broadening and expansion of our core motorsport business into other advanced transmission technology developments has resulted in a complementary division being created within the organisation, which now services the mainstream automotive industry as well as other key sectors such as marine and defence. Modern vehicles require evermore innovative drivetrain solutions and our expertise at optimising their packaging for lightness, efficiency and power density allows customers to create the most compact designs possible in increasingly complex powertrains.
Xtrac's automotive and engineering capabilities have grown rapidly especially in the electric vehicle and supercar sectors. Our supercar transverse layout 7-speed automated manual transmission (AMT) has undergone extensive testing and has been launched with much praise for its lightness, advanced packaging and class leading noise vibration & harshness (NVH) reduction qualities for this important class of vehicle, which is often the first to adopt new technology.
Xtrac's hi-tech manufacturing facility, which is state of the art, allows products to be delivered to the highest standards of quality and within vastly reduced lead times. The production engineering team supports the manufacturing departments to ensure that Xtrac’s quality is always achieved. A stringent focus on key parameters including quality, efficiency, weight reduction, serviceability and reliability is maintained whilst keeping to project critical timing and cost requirements. These targets are at the very core of Xtrac’s approach towards product development, and we believe synonymous with the success that Xtrac and its customers demand.
